How to implement these accountable talk stems:

1. Display large pennants at the front of the classroom. Discuss the expectations (on the burst pennant).
2. Place the miniature pennants on each students’ desk so they can easily refer to them during class time.
3. Give a guiding question to your class to begin the accountable talk time. It can connect to an article the students read, a math problem, an event in history, or even a science experiment!
