I love the fall season so much. It’s my favorite time of year. There are so many fun celebrations, events, and holidays that take place in the autumn season, and one of my favorites is heading back to school! I’m also someone who thoroughly enjoys going to a pumpkin patch as you take in the colorful leaves that are changing. I love bringing that fun and all of the decorations that come with it into my classroom, including an adorable fall bulletin board.
Setting up a classroom filled with bulletin boards can seem overwhelming… I get it! I wanted to share some of my favorite fall bulletin board ideas that I’ve used in my classroom. So here are some easy fall classroom bulletin board ideas for your classroom with meaningful classroom decorations.

FALL CLASSROOM BULLETIN BOARD IDEAS: CLASSROOM JOBS
It’s so important to me that my students feel comfortable in my classroom and see themselves as a part of our classroom community from the minute they walk through the door. I also want to make sure that we work together as a group to make our classroom run as smoothly as possible. I brought these two needs together and created Classroom Jobs decor that doubles as a beautiful school bulletin board. Fall is the perfect time to establish these expectations.
I needed pops of color in my classroom, so this set is bright and beautiful. It features more than 50 jobs that you can pick and choose from that work for your classroom, and the jobs are editable so you can make your own. I took my students’ classroom numbers and put them on markers, and I move the markers around when I change jobs later in the school year. You could also add your students’ names to the pencils if you want!
Depending on the space you have, I created two sizes of the job posters. I have used both sizes of the posters depending on the wall space I had available, and they both looked beautiful in my classroom. You might even have the room for this idea on your classroom door.

FALL CLASSROOM BULLETIN BOARD IDEAS: SCIENCE ALPHABET
I’m all about finding ways to make my classroom look beautiful while also serving a function for my students. This is where the Science Alphabet Posters come into play. I’ve had these hanging above my whiteboard and I get compliments on them often. The pop of color brings such joy to my classroom! I like to have these hanging before open house so my parents can see that my classroom is cute and also functional.
The posters have science words that they’ll interact with throughout the school year. As students look at the posters for help with letter formation and alphabetical order help, they also see important science vocabulary words displayed in a fun way.
The posters are bright and colorful, and there are options for most of the letters depending on the science concepts you teach at your grade level. I like to print these on bright white paper for the maximum pop! There’s also a black and white version that you can print on colored paper to reduce the amount of ink needed.

FALL CLASSROOM BULLETIN BOARD IDEAS: BOOK REVIEWS
Ya’ll, one of the reasons I love the fall season is the cute decorations that make our fall holidays pop, so this bulletin board set is one of my absolute favorite ideas!
I love being able to have my students share what they’re reading with each other by displaying the book titles they’re devouring. My kids create book reviews on cute cutouts that we hang up as a bulletin board that we make together as a class. Not only is this fun and cute, but it functions as a way for students to synthesize what they’re reading in (and out!) of school… and it helps students find new books that they might love to read! And you know as an educator, we love a good book!
The book reviews have seasonal templates that can be used year-round, but there are a few options that have a fall theme:
- Back to School (clipboards) – such a cute themed board
- Fall (pumpkins) – they are the cutest little pumpkins you ever did see
- Halloween (ghosts) – a beautiful autumn display
- Thanksgiving (turkeys) – this is a great idea if you want to include Thanksgiving crafts in November
My favorite thing about this is that this ends up becoming an interactive fall bulletin board that my students want to use! This is an excellent idea to use with older students as well as young learners.

FALL CLASSROOM BULLETIN BOARD IDEAS: ACCOUNTABLE TALK
One of the things my students need a lot of practice with is having conversations with one another that keep the learning going. I spend a lot of time during the back to school and fall seasons to help my students understand how to communicate their thoughts and feedback. I’ve found that in the upper elementary grades, students benefit from sentence stems of accountable talk prompts to help them when they’re stuck during a discussion.
I made cute pennant-style posters that I printed on colored paper, and each poster has a symbol that matches one of the accountable talk categories we learn about during the first few weeks of school. Then, each pennant has sentence stems that students can reference.
While I think it’s important to have these displayed on the walls of my classroom, I also know my kids need more access to these sentence stems. The posters come in a smaller format that can fit on student desks so they can refer to the accountable talk helpers right away.
FALL CLASSROOM BULLETIN BOARD IDEAS: SCIENCE CAREERS
I am super passionate about making sure my students know about all of the opportunities they have in life, and I’m always thrilled to hear how many of my kids might want to work in a science career when they grow up.
To help them understand some of the careers they can explore, I hang Science Career posters on a classroom bulletin board. I want my kids to see themselves being able to do something with all of the knowledge they are learning in school, and they love learning about different jobs like astronomers and pharmacologists. There’s even a matching set of nonfiction articles that complement each of the STEM Careers in this pack.
My students love learning about different careers in STEM. Each of the career posters has a picture and short description of the career. You can choose the bulletin board title that best fits your classroom. My favorite title is Science Careers – nice and simple! This ends up making an awesome bulletin board display.

FALL CLASSROOM BULLETIN BOARD IDEAS: FAMOUS SCIENTISTS AND INVENTORS
In a similar way to science careers, my students are fascinated by scientists and inventors who have made an impact on their world. I want to make sure to foster that love of learning and curiosity, so I created a bulletin board set for 10 amazing inventors and scientists. I often use this in one of my social studies units.
Each of the posters in this set comes with the scientist’s name, their years of life, a short statement of their contribution, and a picture. They’re eye-catching, and I’ve seen students from other classes check out these posters when I’ve had them hung in the hallway outside of my room.
This bulletin board set is amazing on its own, but there’s also a set of nonfiction biographies about each of the inventors as well. It’s a great way to infuse your social studies curriculum with english language arts.

I hope that you’re able to take at least one of these great fall bulletin board ideas and run with it in your classroom! I know that bulletin board design can sometimes make us want to pull our hair out, but the end result is worth it. And if you need new ideas for how to make bulletin boards a breeze this school year, I’ve got you covered. Happy Fall, y’all!
