Description
Teaching the human brain and nervous system and looking for engaging texts and hands-on activities? This is an entire low-prep lesson all about the brain and nervous system, perfect for upper elementary students!
This lesson includes a “Parts of the Brain” reading passage. After students read the informational text, they’ll fill in the table with the purpose and examples of how we use each part of the brain. Next, students will complete three hands-on science experiments that test their reaction time. After completing the experiments, students will apply their thinking to answer reflection questions on reaction time and how it connects to the brain and nervous system.
